27 July, 2007: I have the forums up and running, bare with me about the rest of the site as I know how to design sites but I am not a graphic designer so that part will take a bit of time... In the meantime, visit the forums to see what is available now. Also, if any of my friends are visiting the site and want to become a moderator of the forums, please let me know. All others wishing to help, please see below for information about how to contribute content or coding to this site. Thanks!

This is a new domain that I just registered. It will be a site that I am designing with advice on how to make a variety of drinks. I'm not a bartender, I am a person who doesn't have the money to buy a $7 drink everytime I am out to dinner, and wants to make those drinks at home.

My plan is to start designing this site and to release the first page (which will be on Mojitos) in August. I am currently researching how to make the perfect Mojito. I want to have each page be set up with the drink at the top (and a picture), then a toolbar with a list of options, and the main page will also give my recepie followed by my commentary on how the drink is. The next page will give the history of the drink, compiled from a variety of other websites. The third page will give information on mixers including my favorite brands of mixer and whether or not it is worth using a mixer. I'll include health information, like the ingredients list from the mixer, in this section. The fourth page will be a usergroup, or a forum, where people can discuss variations of the drink. The fifth page will be a variations page, where I will put up any variation recepies that are sent to me. And finally, there will be a page that talks about what you need to make it and tells you where I have found the best deals (for example, for a mojito you need a muddler, which sell for $16.95 to $24.95 plus shipping, but I found one for $7.00 on amazon with free shipping if you have prime or if you spend $25 total).

I hope this site becomes helpfull for people, and that you bookmark it and come back to look at it frequently. Remember that I'm doing this in my spare time while at work and I'm working on drink tastings with my own money and in my own time, so things may be slow to go up.

If you are interested in helping, I need a few things: First off, if you are a webdesigner or a graphic designer, you could help me design the website (follow the format about, and be sure the check the Mojito page to see my template so far (if you design the entire site, I'll give you credit on every page, otherwise I'll have a thank you section to thank contributors). If you are a drink mixer yourself and you want to take pictures of drinks for me to use, you can take them and send them to me. I'll choose the best pictures and use them as I add pages, remember that I wont be adding pages quickly, but once the site is ready and I have pictures I can always add blank pages with just the forums and let people discuss the drinks. If you know a lot about a particular drink, you can write some pages for me, remembering the formats above, and I'll include them in the site (you'll get credit on the page and in the thank you section). Finally, if you want to help me out personally, you can use the links that I will be putting up to buy products (there will be one link for Amazon that gives me 1% back for anything you buy within the same session after clicking through the link). I'll use any commissions that I earn to buy more ingredients and mix more drinks, so your money will go toward making the sire better. Note that if you donate content to the site, I will only use it if I feel it is the best content for that particular page, and I may remove it in the future if I write my own content or if someone sends me better content. I reserve the right to edit or change any submissions, if I change your submission I will remove your credit line but your name will remain in the thank you page.

Thanks for reading, I hope you come back soon as I design the site! Once the Mojito page is done, I'll have a lot more content.
